OK Orion 7.5 is available in the service section, a free update for all Orion Plat 7 users!

Some users requested a full install, because they removed the prior version or w/e. So this is a full install that should work perfectly as a fresh install, but you may also just install it on top of your existing Orion Platinum installation. Whichever you prefer.

Thanks to all public beta testers for all the valuable input. We looked at all minidumps, if we didn't reply it doesn't mean we ignored it. From the overall feedback so far,I think we succeeded in making Orion much more stable than older versions, despite the added complexity of the new multiprocessor-aware engine.

Orion PRO is discontinued with this Orion release. We encourage PRO users to get the affordable upgrade to Orion 7.5. Since there is just one Orion version now, the "Platinum" in the name is dropped, so it's called Orion 7.5 but of course contains all former Platinum features such as the master section, additional generators/fx, ReWire2, multitrack audio recording etc. etc.

Below is the "What's New" blurb for 7.5.

Vintage Chorus was dropped from 7.5. Sorry. You have to wait for 8.0.. we had to make few hard decisions because of the amount of changes already for a free release/update.

The VC & ghost notes feature need some final touches too. Those two are the only bigger differences from public beta 4, afair.

Newsletter has been sent out too. As usual first complaints about missing newsletter came about 2.6 nanoseconds after 7.5 appeared in the service area :biglol:

;-) Richard ? I've noticed you 've also decided to change your logo . Is it a new beginning for Synapse ? .... imho , it's a pity because the first was good . This is a page which is turning for Orion !

I like it a lot, it fits better into the darker skins (azura+grymmjacks starfighter). It looks a bit weird on the website right now but as mentioned we're working on a new one too :) So yes quite a few changes and more upcoming ones (it's about time imo). I can post old/new one later & you'll see it's better, might just be you're not used to it yet.

I found something funny:

If you right click on the Solo button on the left in the song playlist of a sampler, it will open a song event editor for pitch bend (instead of solo on/off).

Now when you use this pitchbend function on a sliced drum loop, it sounds like it has realtime time stretching, similar as the tape stop in dblue glitch, but more flexible. really cool :)

here's an example:

What do you mean?

Orion generators: You can assign modwheel to any control you want to
VST plugins: Same here, but you can alternatively switch them to MIDI CC mode (config)

The generator quality setting ( double/normal/half) was removed too.

you want me to assign basic controls each time I open the program...surely your joking

no man, I open OP, I bring up a generator and my wheels are ready to play

as I've said a trillion times...OP did this up till 5.8
OP is the only prog I have that doesn't have controller wheels ready on boot up

wtf????

"Persistent Digital Signal" feature to prevent certain digital audio
hardware (such as harman/kardon DPR1005/2005) from dropping and redetecting
digital audio signal when using digital outputs of the soundcard"

Does this mean I can now choose my soundcard's Digtal outs as Orion's default outs?  :)

No i simply use the default skin and a wallpaper of mine ... in fact that's because , the last few days , i was playing around your old Orion star logo in Bryce 5.5 and i was trying to make a new 3D wallpaper to the glory of Orion . I'd succeeded to make an Orion star in 3D but it's obsolet now  :-) I didn't got the time to finish it , i'm disenchanted !! :-)

Ok I see what you're saying.  Orion's generators don't have the Mod Wheel hard wired to a parameter in the patches I tried (Wasp, Toxic 3 and Screamer).
